A 14-year-old girl, Joy Ezechikamnayo, will today serve as the Governor of Abia State after winning a week-long essay competition.
Joy, alongside other teenagers, will be sworn in today by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu. While Joy will serve as One Day Governor, others will serve as Deputy Governor, Secretary to the State Governor(SSG) and commissioners.
The SS3 student and senior prefect of Intellectual Giants Christian Academy, Umuahia will be joined by members of her executive council drawn from all the LGAs of Abia State.
Joy emerged the winner in the essay competition and she is currently attending a leadership retreat with members of her cabinet.
The 20 top performers in the essay competition were assigned to fill the following positions today:
1st position- Governor
2nd position – Deputy Governor
3rd position – SSG
