Senate President Bukola Saraki today met with former President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja.
Saraki, since hinting that he may contest for president in 2019 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has met former leaders like Ibrahim Babagida and Olusegun Obasanjo.
Today’s meeting with Jonathan is believed to be part of his ongoing consultations before he formally declares to run or not to run.
If he throws his hat into the the ring, he would have to battle with former Vice President, Atiku Abubarkar; former Kano governor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso; former Jigawa governor, Sule Lamido; former Plateau governor and Senator Jonah Jang. Former Kaduna governor and former caretaker committee chairman of the PDP, Ahmed Makarfi, is also in the race.
