The Afe Babalola University (ABUAD), Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state is ready to partner with members of the Association of Online Media Practitioners of Nigeria (OMPAN) in the state, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Micahel Ajisafe, stated on Thursday.
Prof Ajisafe spoke when he received members of the Ekiti State chapter of OMPAN who paid him an official visit in his office.
He expressed his satisfaction over the visit and pledged to carry the body along in future events and programmes of the institution.
Dr. Taye Babaleye, the Head of Program in the institution’s Department of Communications and Media Studies, who first received the group, expressed joy at the visit.
He urged the OMPAN body in Ekiti State to maintain consistency and always exercise self censorship, to avoid fake news capable of causing political or religious crisis. He enjoined the group to stand out and be qualified to work with the insitution.
He also pledged his readiness to partner with the association and maintain a good relationship in the area of effective dissemination of information that will better project ABUAD.
Mrs. Omolola Oluwasola who is a Specialist in Advertising and Digital Marketing for the Afe Babalola University (ABUAD) was also on ground to receive the Ekiti OMPAN team bedore they proceeded to meet with the VC.
Earlier in his presentation, the State Chairman of the group, Abere Ayodele, commended the founder of the university, Are Afe Babalola (SAN), for his great contributions to the development of his community and the state at large.
