President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Dr. Bichi Baffa, and replaced him with a former Executive Secretary, Prof. Elias Suleiman Bogoro.
Baffa, who used to be a special adviser to the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, was appointed the head of TETFund alongside 14 other heads of parastatals in the education ministry on August 2, 2016.
Even though some reports say Baffa and Adamu, have been on different pages as far 2019 intervention was concerned, his sack is believed to be connected to his deep involvement in Kano State politics, particularly his opposition to the reelection of the state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
Baffa’s replacement, Bogoro, was initially appointed by former president Goodluck Jonathan in April 2014.
