Former Governor of Oyo state, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala has described President Mohammadu Buhari as a true nationalist who is committed to building bridges across all divides, irrespective of ethnicity, tribe or religion.
Otunba Alao-Akala gave this commendation while reacting to the recent decision of the federal government on June 12 and the posthumous awards given to two foremost Yoruba leaders.
He said the decision is unprecedented historic handshake across the Niger and will forever be written in the annals of the country,
Nigerian Tribune quotes him as saying: “This posthumous National honours award bequeathed on Bashorun MKO Abiola & Chief Gani Fawehinmi in recognition of their exemplary contributions towards building our nation Nigeria will forever remain evergreen.
“The Yoruba Nation will never forget the Federal Government and President Mohammed Buhari in particular for this great honour done our fallen hero’s.
“This bridge building effort the former Governor stated will serve as a wake up call to those of us alive that posterity will definitely reward us for whatever effort we put in uplifting this country shall surely not be in vain as typified by president Mohammed Buhari.
