Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike reacted angrily on Sunday when fans of his club, Fenerbahce booed him for missing a chance to put his side a goal ahead in a home game between Fenerbahce and Besiktas.
He angrily took his shirt off and stormed off the pitch demanding to be substituted. It took the intervention of his coaching staff to prevent him from walking into the tunnel and getting back on.
He was replaced at half-time but his side still won 1-0 after Senegalese, Moussa Sow scored an injury time goal.
Sow later said: “Emenike is very worried. Our fans should raise him up
“Our fans should support him. We need him for the title. This season has been tough for Emenike. He would like to contribute to the team.
“He is very eager for success like us but our fans want us to win the games – they are aware of this season’s importance”.
Emenike – who is in his second spell at the club – has only scored four goals in 22 league appearances this season for title contenders Fenerbahce.
