Wrestling World Entertainment (WWE) legend, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart has died at the age of 63.
According to TMZ, Neidhart passed away early Monday morning after suffering a medical emergency at his home in Florida.
Neidhart, father of current WWE star Natalya, was one of WWE’s most popular wrestlers in the late 1980s, and was a frequent tag partner of Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart.
James Henry Neidhart was born in 1955, he made his wrestling debut in 1979 after training in the legendary Hart Dungeon under Stu Ha.
During his legendary career, Jim was a two-time Tag Team champion . He defeated everyone from the Legion of Doom to the Nasty Boys to The Rockers.
He gained his ‘anvil’ nickname after winning an anvil toss competition in Calgary, and competed all over the world in the early 80s alongside the likes of King Kong Bundy and Butch Reed.
Neidhart last competed in WWE in 1997. It was reported that he struggled with substance abuse. He went to rehab twice after drug-related arrests.
He is survived by his wife, Ellie, and three daughters including Natalie, aka WWE superstar Natalya.
