Excited shoppers thronged the newly opened Eleyele, Ibadan outlet of Feedwell supermarket on Friday.
The shoppers, who swarmed the outlet in large number, were excited to enjoy the variety advantage which the supermarket offers. They also grabbed several items whose prices have been slashed to herald the opening of the outlet and to welcome 2019 Easter celebrations.
Feedwell Supermarket is a leading groceries and household item retailer in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. The Eleyele outlet opened for business on Friday.
The shoppers came early and waited patiently on the queue outside till the store was open 9:00 am. They were received by warm and friendly attendants as they shopped with glee.
The residents of the area were excited about the new outlet; it was like a dream come true because there is no other big supermarket in the area.
The new outlet is located opposite the new FRSC office, near the international market, Benjamin Bustop, Eleyele Road.
The Eleyele outlet is the fifth store of Feedwell store in the ancient city. The store is already present in Bodija, Ajibade, Adamasingba and Challenge.
The supermarket’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Steve Okwubi, in an interview with Newspeakonline said the supermarket’s main priority is to satisfy customers in terms of price and a comfortable shopping environment
His words: “We are reputed to be the supermarket that offers the lowest prices in Ibadan and we will continue to do that. We will also satisfy our customers in terms of the facility and comfort we offer at Feedwell.”
“I noticed that there is no supermarket around this area and I want the people around this environment to benefit from the service we render.”
On which area the next outlet may be cited and the reason for choosing Eleyele , Mr. Okwubi said: “Well for now I don’t know. I think I told you the last time that the next outlet may be at Iwo road but now it is Eleyele. So I do not know for now.
Just outside the store was a Promo by Recare International, producers of Natures Gentle Touch. Customers who bought one of their products are given another product for free.
One of the shoppers, who simply identified herself as Mrs. Joy, a resident of the area, expressed her satisfaction at the relatively cheap prices of product. She was also happy to have received a gift after shopping.
Another shopper Mr. Ayo, said he has found an ideal shopping atmosphere in the area, adding that he was happy because of the close-to-home advantage it offers.
