The extraordinary Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting originally scheduled to hold on Saturday, October 5, 2019 has been shifted to Monday, October 7, 2019, by 12 noon.
Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, disclosed in a short statement on Friday evening. He said “the meeting is to put finishing touches to the year 2020 budget, which would still be presented to the National Assembly by 2 p.m on Tuesday.”
While speaking to journalists at the National Assembly on Thursday, October 3, 2019, Senate spokesman, Adedayo Adeyeye, expressed optimism that the 2020 appropriation bill would be passed by the National Assembly before the Christmas break in order to return to the January to December budget cycle in 2020
Buhari returned to Nigeria from South Africa on Friday after a three-day official visit where he met with President Cyril Ramaphosa and later with members of the Nigerian community in South Africa over recent xenophobic attacks. The two countries also signed new bilateral deals.
