The National Universities Commission (NUC) has withdrawn te accreditation of four courses offered in the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile Ife.
The suspended courses are: Law, Dentistry, Medical Rehabilitation, and Botany.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has sent a message to candidates who chose any of the four courses in the just-concluded United Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), asking them to change their course or institution.
“Your first choice course did not receive accreditation. Login to your profile and change course/institutions,” the message read.
Law was similarly suspended as a course in OAU in 2006 before it eventually got re-accredited.
The institution’s Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Olarenwaju, confirmed the development.
“We are going to sort it out, latest by September, and everything will come back to shape,” he said.
