There are reports of sporadic shooting by policemen at Zartech Limited in Oluyole, Ibadan. It is learnt that the police are trying to disperse protesting workers of the farm.
The angry workers are said to be protesting against casualisation and to press home their demands for increment in salaries and adjustment of working hours.
Police spokesman in the state, Adekunle Ajisebutu, however said it was untrue that police were shooting at protesters.
In a live phone conversation on Fresh FM, Ajisebutu, said the police only used teargas when the protesters got violent.
He said policemen have been urged to manage the situation professionally and that they were doing so. He warned hoodlums against trying to take advantage of the situation.
An eyewitness however insisted there were shooting of live bullets into the air by the police.
Newspeakonline gathered that the crisis started in the beginning of the week.
