Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde will appoint caretaker chairmen and administrators into the 33 local government areas(LGAs) and the 35 local council development areas(LCDAs) in December.
The Chief of Staff(CoS) to the governor, Chief Bisi Ilaka disclosed this during a media interaction with newsmen in Ibadan on Friday.
According to Ilaka, one of the factors delaying the constitution and announcement of the names of the council bosses is to give room for inclusiveness and input from all party stakeholders.
Although, the CoS was not specific on the exact time the name of the caretaker chairmen and administrators would be announced, he said appointment would be made any moment from now.
Ilaka stated that the reason administrators would be appointed into the 35 LCDAs is because the LCDAs are “unknown to the constitution.”
He, however, stated that the the sacked council bosses under the immediate past administtration in the state whose case are still pending in court are gone for good, adding that with the overwhelming majority of the party in the House of Assembly, the government has nothing to fear.
Concerning the appeal filed at the Supreme Court by the opposition All Progressives Congress(APC) against the election of Governor Seyi Makinde, he said the governor and the party(PDP) were calm and relaxed, because “the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won with a landslide margin so there is nothing to be scared about.”
