The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress(ADC) in Oyo State, Sen. Olufemi Lanlehin, has congratulated former governor of the state, Sen. Rashidi Ladoja, on his discharge and acquittal by the Federal High Court in Lagos, over the N4.7billion case instituted against him and Mr. Waheed Akanbi, former Commissioner for Finance in the state, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In a statement on Friday signed by his media assistant, Damola Adeoye, Lanlehin said “Senator Ladoja’s integrity has been further advertised, and the orchestrators of the spurious litigation, ostensibly for political motives, put to perpetual shame.”
He urged Ladoja to continue to dedicate his life to the advancement of humanity and the promotion of people’s welfare.
Justice Mohammed Idris on Friday discharged and acquitted Ladoja and Akanbi on the grounds that the evidence adduced by the EFCC was “too low on credible evidence.”
