The traditional ruler of Owo kingdom, Oba Victor Folagbade Olateru-Olagbegi is dead.
Oba Olateru-Olagbegi, died on Tuesday night at the age of 77.
The late monarch was installed in 1999 by Owo kingmakers but was given the staff of office by the late governor Olusegun Agagu, on December 11, 2003.
He was a UK trained lawyer and attended Nigeria Law school in 1968 before practising law under the tutelage of late Fatai Williams. He rose to the peak of his career as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
He was a lecturer at the Nigeria Law School, where he retired as a reader in 1999.
He was appointed as Chancellor, University of Benin in 2005 and later University of Abuja.
He is currently the Chancellor, University of Jos.
