The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has issued a piece of advice to ladies wishing to become his wife.
The advice comes after some women came out regretting they lost out in their bid to marry the monarch, following his wedding to Prophetess Naomi, last week.
It has emerged that a lot of ladies desirous of marrying the 44-year-old monarch have been duped by fraudsters who gave them assurances of facilitating the marriage with the Ife king.
One of the victims, who reportedly fell for the fraudsters, Miss Elizabeth Odunlami, recently claimed that the monarch dated and jilted her, but Ooni Ogunwusi has denied any relationship with her.
The Ooni, in a statement issued by his spokesman, Moses Olafare, cautioned ladies to be careful with fraudsters using his name to deceive them. He advised young ladies to report whoever promised them marriage in his name to the security agencies immediately.
Olafare said: “While we sympathize with Miss Elizabeth Odunlami who obviously has become a victim of a fraudulent act perpetrated by a scammer disguising to be Ooni Ogunwusi, we find it pertinent to debunk this sacrilegious and unfounded allegation which is not unlikely to be another calculated ploy adopted by some unprovoked detractors using psseudo-identities.”
“Members of the public especially ladies are hereby cautioned against communicating with anyone presenting himself to be the Ooni Ogunwusi and advised to swiftly report such a matter or person to the relevant security agencies.”
