Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Josak Habila and the coordinator of the joint security Taskforce for the Osun state governorship election on Friday gave details of the deployment of security personnel formthe polls.
According to him, a total number of 28,000 security operatives were deployed for the election.
He said the officers were drawn from Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS), Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), Directorate of State Services (DSS) and the military.
Police Mobile Force (PMF) units comprising 63 operatives and 10 patrol vehicles have been deployed to each of the local government areas of the state.
Habila disclosed that helicopters were also deployed, a move that would ensure ground to air communication.
The police also released a list of 30 senior officers with their assigned duty posts and phone numbers. See the list below:
