The Oyo State government has inaugurated two full-time board members for Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board(SUBEB).
Addressing the new board members, the Chairman, SUBEB, Dr. Nureni Adeniran charged them to make accountability their watchword, saying the present administration has zero tolerance for corruption.
Adeniran said the board have a vital role to play in the development and promotion of education for an improved tomorrow for the state and Nigeria at large.
According to him, while the board has achieved significant results since his assumption of office, it is expected that the board would attain greater heights with their contribution to the affairs of the board.
“This is a clarion call to service, and please be partners in progress. The state government requires your competency and wealth of experience to support the board, giving strategic direction and ensuring attainment of the goals we are set to deliver,” Adeniran said.
The inugirated board members are Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro and Mr. Akeem Oladeji, who are both educationists and politicians.
Speaking, Oladeji, promised to be dedicated to the service and support the current chairman in transforming the basic education sector. He stated that the board will not disappoint the state.
Also, Ogungbenro, assured the government of his unalloyed support for board, promising to support the chairman in his effort to turn education around in the state.
