The speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin and the Assistant General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Chuch of God (RCCG), Pastor Funsho Odesola were among 50 people from various walks of life, who were at the weekend, inducted as pioneer members of the Institute of Personality Development and Customer Relationship Management.
Addressing the inductees at the ceremony held at the International Conference Centre Lead City University, Ibadan, Dr. Owolabi Abayomi, the president of the institute revealed that the idea of the institute was muted in 2005.
According to him, the institute is a professional body established to bring synergy between personality development and customer relationship management
‘’We have been on this before we came out since 2005,” he said. “For the past 14 years we have being gathering information, knowledge skills together that will be beneficial to people.
‘’There are terms we put together to achieve the name of the institute, personality development helps individuals to inspire others. The essence of the institute is to harness the potentials in customer service mentality and personality diversity for self actualization and for co-operate sustainability. The institute will assist in so many ways to build up members.
‘’We want to raise on a sustainable level, a higher caliber of individuals with distinctive winning personalities, using cutting edge strategies in soft and life skills; and positive behaviors to influence their environment and every human and corporate engagement for mutual benefit, human capacity and national development.”
In his speech, Ogundoyin said it was a honour and privilege to be part of the institute. “One of the most important aspect of life is to develop ourselves, to create a safer, better environment with education.
He encouraged the institute to give support to the legislature in Oyo state,saying: “Whatever policy or idea you have for us the door is always open. I would like to participate more.”
On the benefits of being a member of the institute, Abayomi said: “Every quarter we have what we call professional development series where we expect you to come around and upgrade yourself. There is a lot to learn from this institute and I want to assure you that even by the time you are leaving here today, you have assurance with great commitment even to the institute that your time has not been wasted.
‘’The most important reasons why you should sign into the institute is that it will help you to discover the most satisfactory reasons to achieve self actualization in your private and public life. We want you to have the skills and knowledge that will take you into every facet of your life and make your to dominate.
“If you are part of this organization, you will begin to portray authority; you will inspire trust with your personality, he added.
Dr. Owolabi appreciated the hierarachy and the leadership of RCCG for the support they have given the institute.
Council member who gave lectures at the induction are: Mr Seyi Micheal, Mr Segun Ojo and Dr. Mrs Nwakaego Eleje.
The inductees include associate members , full members and fellows.
The first group of inductees are the graduate and associate members of the institute. These are graduates of any Nigerian or foreign universities with not less than two years work experience, members of other professional bodies such as NIPR, APCON, ICAN, CIBM, NINM and ACCA. The graduates from Nigerian or foreign universities must go through professional development workshop of the institute before induction.
The second group is made up of full members who are graduates of five years and above.They include Masters and PhD holders of relevant professional bodies.
Politicians at the level of local government chairmen, special advisers, party chiefs and members of State Houses of Assembly and others.
The fellow membership includes graduates of 10 years and above, PhD holders / professors or fellows of reputable professional bodies. Top executives with experience: chairman, managing director, director, and general manager. Politicians at the level of party chairman, president, leader, governor, senator, House of Representatives member, minister, director and leadership of State House of Assembly, religious/ cultural leaders at the level of senior pastor, general overseer, bishop, Imam, sheik and cultural ambassador.
