The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has addressed young pastors, following the accusations of rape trailing the Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth Zion Assembly (COZA) Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo.
Speaking before starting his sermon at the Holy Ghost Night at the Redemption Camp on Friday, Pastor Adeboye advised young men of God to observe preventive measures given in the Bible.
Without mentioning Fatoyinbo specifically, he explained that his advice became pertinent at a time like this. He recalled that many young ministers of God brand him old fashioned because he sticks to biblical principles.
The highly respected popular priest advised young pastors to avoid any behavior that should not be heard by others. Citing Mark 4:22 from the Bible, he stressed that not matter how long it takes, every hidden thing, particularly scandalous behaviour, will be revealed.
Adeboye also advised young ministers to shun sin because according to Numbers 32:23, people’s sin will find them out ‘sooner or later.’ He admonished them to resist the devil and flee from appearances of sin as recommended in the Bible in James 4:7. He emphasized the need to prevent opportunities for ladies to tempt them.
Adeboye, who said he was ordained in 1975 and was still standing by God’s grace, said sticking to the Bible is the sure way to avoid scandal.
