The senatorial candidate of the PDP in the February 23 National Assembly election for Ogun Central, Ogun State, Hon Kayode Amusan, has formerly announced his defection to the All Progressives Congress(APC).
On Wednesday at a press briefing, Amusan who represented Abeokuta North, Obafemi Owode and Odeda Federal Constituency for eight years on the platform of PDP, said he is leaving the PDP for the ruling APC with the over 50,000 supporters he has been gathering in the last 19 years.
He said his defection would further boost the chances of the APC governorship candidate, Prince Dapo Abiodun, in the March 9 election.
Amusan described Abiodun as a successful entrepreneur and businessman, and the type of man the state requires to run its affairs.
He also called on voters in the state to support Abiodun and desist from the habit of making unnecessary demands from those who signify interest to serve, saying it deters those with genuine desire to serve.
