Security operatives on Monday morning fired teargas at those who gathered for the #RevolutionNow protest at the National Stadium in Lagos. They have also arrested some of the protesters.
Policemen and soldiers had earlier barricaded the entrance to the stadium in order to stop protesters from gathering.
Some of the demands of Revolution Now protest which was initially planned to hold nationwide is a call for an end to insecurity in the country, good governance and an end of corruption.
One of the leaders of the movement, Omoyele Sowore is currently in DSS custody after he was arrested in the early hours of Saturday.

The police on Saturday warned against rhe protest, sayimg it would amount to treason and acts of terrorism even though the protesters say all they intend to do was march to draw attention to the need to change the system.
A presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, also described the protests as an attempt to effect regime change without going through the ballot.
Meanwhile, the police have explained that they fired teargas at the protesters because the gathering was unlawful, insisting that no protest must hold in the state.
