Schools, markets, banks, transport companies, government offices and other business activities in Onitsha, Nnewi, Enugu, and other parts of the South East were under lock today, in compliance with the sit-at-home order given by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
On the roads, the only vehicular movement witnessed were those of the Police and Army, patrolling the streets.
A source resident in Onitsha told Newspeakonline on condition of anonymity, that many Igbos complied with the IPOB directive because of the inhuman treatment meted out on women who went out in protest in Owerri last month to demand the whereabouts of Nnamdi Kanu.
