U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday stood in defence of his Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh who is facing allegations of sexual misconduct from two women.
Describing the allegations as unsubstantiated, Trump said Kavanaugh was an outstanding person.
“Judge Kavanaugh is an outstanding person. I am with him all the way,” the president said after he arrived in New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly.
“There’s a chance that this could be one of the single most unfair, unjust things to happen to a candidate for anything.” Trump added.
This defence comes as a second woman accused Kavanaugh of inappropriate sexual behavior towards her in the university.
