The Oyo State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Alhaji Fausat Sanni, Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Abosede Abioye, Controller of Immigration Service, Oyo State Command, Mr. Saleh Abdullahi were some of the dignitaries present as the 35th Annual General Meeting/ National Conference of Nigeria Association of Social Workers (NASoW) kicked off in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Wednesday.

The theme of 2019 conference, holding at the Western Hall, Oyo State House of Assembly, Secretariat Ibadan, is “Social Work Regulatory Framework: A Pathway to Promoting Effective Relationships”.

Alhaji Mashood Mustapha, National President, Nigeria Association of Social Workers (NASoW), on behalf of the executive members welcomed the guests and other Social Workers to the conference while Professor James Ayangunna, a professor of Social Work at the University of Ibadan, presented a lead paper on “Social Work Regulatory Framework: A Pathway to promoting effective relationships”.

The Controller of Immigration Service, Oyo State Command, Mr. Saleh Abdullahi also presented a keynote address on “Social Work and anti-human trafficking, duty of an immigration officer: The linkage between the duo”.

Others are veteran Social Workers among whom are Chief Lasisi Ayoade Busari, Dr. Julius Ola Ojesina and Mr. Mufutau Olaniyan Hammed.
