Forty-eight hours to the Osun state governorship election, the five leading candidates in the election have signed a protocol to ensure fair play.
Sources had told Newspeakonline that some of the candidates were planning to step down for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, Iyiola Omisore but upon verification, the SDP candidate denied any such arrangement.
Source had said they were planning to step down for Omisore and join forces with him to battle the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Gboyega Oyetola.
The candidates rumoured to be part of the deal are Moshood Adeoti of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) and Fatai Akinbade of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The ADP has also denied the report.
There are however indications that a deal might still be struck among some of the candidates.
