House of Representatives aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Shina Abiola Peller, has promised to give a different approach to lawmaking if he is elected to represent the people of Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency in Oyo state in 2019.
Peller who is on ward tour across the constituency in preparation for the party’s September 29 primary election told the people that he felt their pain and was aware that things were not improving for them. He said he is bringing on board new structure that will help correct the anomaly in his constituency.
Having completed his tour of all the 11 wards in Iseyin Local Government Area of the constituency and taken a break, Peller continued with the tour on Wednesday, September 4, 2018, visiting wards in Kajola Local Government Area.
On Thursday he visited Ayetoro ward 01, Ojete ward 02, Gbelekale ward 03, Ward 6 Iwere-one , Ilaji-Oke, Ward 08(A) Isemi-Ile, Ilua ward 08(B), and ward 10.
The people who received him warmly urged him to rescue their communities from backwardness and continuous unfulfilled promises previously made by politicians.
In his response, Peller shared his people’s pains, stating with dismay that the system was faulty.
“I totally align myself with a school of thought which says, If you are getting a result that you’re not happy with, it means you have to give that thing different approach.” He said.
He assured his people that his current political journey was for their benefit, asking them to join him in the struggle to liberate Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency from backwardness. He promised purposeful and inclusive representation of the constituency in the House of Representatives.
He also urged them to disregard zoning and elect leaders based on competence, opining that zoning was encouraging disunity in Oke-Ogun.
Peller also used the opportunity to pay a courtesy visit to the two traditional rulers within the wards. They are His Royal Highness, Oba Abdul Wasiu Oyedele Sakariyau (Olokolonigi II, Elero of Ilero Land) and His Royal Highness, Oba Samuel Durodola Afolabi (Onilua of Ilua Land). He received royal blessings from them both.
