Popular retail supermarket chain in Ibadan, FoodCo Nigeria Limited, is set to snatch its own share of supermarket business in Lagos.
Newspeakonline understands that the store is set to open its first Lagos outlet in Lekki before the end of October.
The Lekki outlet will extend the brand’s footprints as a retail supermarket cum fast food chain in Ibadan which it has dominated for over 30 years with eight branches across the ancient city.
Founded in 1982 in Bodija, Ibadan, as a small fresh food stall, FoodCo has grown to a one-stop-shop for consumer goods including a supermarket division, restaurant chain and bakery. It is currently the largest supermarket chain in Oyo State and second in the south-west, outside of Lagos, while the restaurant and bakery chain are the biggest and longest running in the city. The company’s Sunfresh Bread is arguably the most popular bread brand in Ibadan.
It recently added entertainment to its portfolio with the outlets in Akobo and Ring Road having games arcade.
Other outlets in Ibadan are in Bodija, Idi-Ape, Monatan, Apata and Jericho and Dugbe.
