A Kano State High Court has deposed the four Emirs appointed by the state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
Daily Nigerian reports that Justice Usman Na’Abba gave the order on Thursday following a suit filed by Muhammad Sanusi II, Emir of Kano.
Newspeakonline recalls that Ganduje had created four additional emirates in Kano insisting that the move was for administrative convenience. But many believed the creation of the new emirates was to whittle down the influence of Sanusi who reportedly didn’t support Ganduje’s re-election bid.
Sanusi had challenged the appointment of the Emirs in court.
