Tennis queen, Serena Williams has been fined $10,000 for damaging a Wimbledon practice court with her racquet.
CNN reports that the seven-time Wimbledon champion caused the damage during a training session a day before the tournament began.
It would be recalled that Williams was similarly fined by the tournament in 2016 after smashing her racquet on the court repeatedly following her win over Christina McHale.
Last week, another big star of the Wimbledon, Bernard Tomic, was fined $58,500, (his full prize money), for not meeting the “required professional standard”. The Australian put up a lacklustre performance during his 58-minute first-round defeat by Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
Italy’s Fabio Fognini was also got a $3,000 fine following his remarks that a “bomb should explode” at Wimbledon.
